So odd as I had been looking at body armor especially after the Boston gun confiscation fiasco. We all need it unless you want to go quietly into a FEMA waste disposal camp….

I would love to add body armor to my prep. Right now it is not a top priority due to other needs but winning body would be a major plus. My wife has no problem about prepping but she did give me a little bit of a “look” when I brought up body armor. Again winning verses buying would even make her smile.

Mostly I talk to friends of mine. I currently live in an area critical to our infrastructure, and that concerns me as well as friends residing in areas likely to destabilize in situations disrupting the normalcy of day-to-day living. We are all concerned about our and our families futures, and so we have similar mindsets when it comes to keeping them safe.

What I like the most about prepping is the satisfaction I receive from knowing we are better prepared for hard times and the independence of it all.

I would love for our son to have some body armor! He’s the one that will be protecting us old folks so I will feel a whole lot better knowing he would have that on. Being able to have protection like that makes us feel a lot better and more prepared.

I am just one person with a lot of ground to cover, body armor could be a big help. As with everyone today, the little money I have pays for too few things I need.

I had just read the post on why I, as a civilian should buy body armor. One reason noted was safety for people who work alone at night where customers could rob you. I thought, “yea, that is me”, but not likely to happen. Two nights later a man came into my shop, raised his hand and said “give me all the money”. As a woman all alone I was in a bad situation. Fortunately for me the idiot was joking and had only his wallet in his hand. He bought cigarettes and left. I am going to get a… Read more »

I believe to have this body armor(BA) is a great safety improve. But in regards to the article, you mention is a protect against military sniper. I am sorry, but this armor (as I got it no plates included) is going to stop up to 9 mm pistol with classic ammo. (and prevent all stabings/cuttings attempt aimed to the armor) But I seriously doubt it is going to stop AR shot with military ammo, not speaking about sniper rifles. Military ammo has a great penetrating specification, the enregy is also MUCH higher. I would say that if it would stop… Read more »

Yes, that was my idea anyway – it is a great civilian armor, possible to wear under your clothes, if I am not mistaken. And that is a VERY good thing. To stop AR shots one would have to wear over 20 kg of steel/ceramic plates. And you can bet such armored person is like a magnet for bullets. (who looks more dangerous a man in a jacket or a man in military outfit armor and helmet?) So this armor follows an safety rule “to blend in”. And that can be life safer! So by the end of the day,… Read more »
