HUGE GIVEAWAY! Win A Bulletproof Vest – Update

Print Friendly

Update 9/23/13 – We have a winner!!!

Congratulations to Dan who will be receiving his prize as soon as I can get this in the mail. Look for more contests and giveaways in the near future and thank you all for participating.

I am so excited to have our first giveaway at the Prepper Journal because this is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. We wanted our first contest to be a little more special than a $25 gift card (not that there is anything wrong with that) so I tried to think of items that the average prepper might have a little harder time pulling the trigger on purchasing. This gets into territory that is more than the cost of a bag of wheat, some extra batteries or the coolest new knife out there.

We were lucky enough to partner with EnGarde to offer something that every Prepper worth his salt either wants, has or wishes they could get their hands on and that is a bulletproof vest. Technically, the T.R.U.S.T plate carrier is more than a vest, it is a tactical garment that can also save your life. Complete with MOLLE webbing and 2 Level IIIA soft armor panels give you protection from small arms fire up to and including 9mm rounds. Now the lucky winner will have a gear solution to hang all of their go-to-war items on like ammo pouches while giving them the safety of level IIIA protection should things get to the point where you need some extra protection.

What do you win?

Combined, these are worth $350!!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck!

Contest Fine Print:

  • One winner will be selected at random and will receive the prizes listed above.
  • Winner will be notified by email and once contacted, they have 24 hours to claim their prize. If we do not receive a response from them within 48 hours, we will select a new winner.
  • Contest ends at 11:59 PM CST on 9/23/13.

I want to learn more about surviving the first two months after an event that would result in a “wrol” situation. This would be handy information if presented from the perspective of a family that lives in a larger city but is faced with the decisions of when to leave, how to do so, and where to go.

Talk about a large question but with many unknown variables, but you did ask!

I’m interested in post-event technology. I’m sure everyone has heard about using a metal trash can as a Faraday cage to protect electronics against EMP. Are people storing away old laptops arduinos and handheld radios? If things go sideways and a town needs to re-establish order and services it would great to have even a few old computers to use. They can be very beneficial for keeping track of personnel files, supply levels, gardens and crops, security patrols, etc.

Learning, to stay balanced is an absolute, I don’t hear enough about force multiplier’s on the natural level, just hhigh tech such as nv, some of the older vet’s talk alot about booby traps but one cannot get much more out of them except they hurt, foot fall’s, tanglefoot and such of which I have no clue to what they are,,,,, so I’d like to hear more about force multipliers, on the cheap, using stuff around the house or barn or naturely natural,,,,,,

    Thanks, Larry

    • prepperjournal

      September 21, 2013 at 10:20 pm

The vest and soft armor panels are both from the same company, EnGarde. What I demonstrated was the Level IV plate but that is not included in the contest. The contest is giving away the T.R.U.S.T plate carrier (what you wear) and the Level IIA soft armor panels. The level IIIa panels offer balistic protection up to 9mm rounds. What I tested was the next level up so these don’t offer the same protection as the level IV plates, but it is a good option for 9mm and below. You also have the molle webbing to hang additional gear off of.

You can read more about the T.R.U.S.T plate carrier and soft panels on EnGarde’s site http://www.engardebodyarmor.com/tactical-body-armor.htm
