A report in the Daily Mail yesterday discussed new requirements from the NHS (the UK equivalent of our DHHS) that will force doctors to hand over confidential patient information that will be stored in a ‘safe haven’ on NHS servers. The data the NHS wants to have on each person includes:
- Weight, cholesterol, BMI, family health history and pulse rate
- Alcohol consumption and smoking status
“Diagnosis of everything from cancer to heart disease to mental illness would be covered. Family doctors will have to pass on dates of birth, postcodes and NHS numbers.”
The data is being captured as part of a new program called ‘Everyone Counts’ and there is no option to opt-out. This is so Orwellian its sad. Just another politically correct and warm term to make the plebes ignore the fact that the government is shredding our privacy in leaps an bounds each day. This is coming to America sooner than you know it with the passage of Obama Care.
